Course Assignments

Week 1

Exercise 1 -- record a 60-90 second personal introduction and post the link to the recording or attach a playable audio file to the Discussion Board under Personal Introduction. In the Discussion message text box, include information about the microphone and sound recording method/software you used and write a short evaluation of the sound quality of the recording you made. Try to answer at least the following questions:
  • State your name and describe your degree, program or certificate as well as any relevant previous course work?
  • What is your experience level with podcasting and/or multimedia experience?
  • What is your learning goal for this course?
  • Do you have some instructional design experience/knowledge?
  • Any personal information you are willing to share.

Design Document - Design Idea
Consult the Design Project Guidelines. Open to your wiki page and start writing down your ideas for an educational podcast series. Use the question prompts from the guide to help steer your thinking. For now, it might just be a bulleted list of random ideas. For now I just want to get you thinking, writing, and submitting.
  • Write up your Deisgn Idea by Saturday 12-midnight.
  • OPTIONAL. Post your ideas to the Discussion Board under Brainstorm to get some feedback from your peers.

Week 2

Exercise 2 -- Group Discussion - Evaluate an educational podcast series. I will post the exercise instructions and discussion question to a new forum in our Bb Discussions tool Sunday night or by Monday. The discussion will run from Tuesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 31st.

Design Document: Audience and Content
Consult the Design Project Guidelines. Open up your first draft. Most likely you'll want to revise how you describe your design idea. Next I want you to quickly write about the next two sections: Audience and Content. Just convey enough detail for me to provide feedback on. I expect you to revise and fill this section out after feedback so don't spend a week writing a masterpiece.
  • Write up your Audience and Content section by Saturday 12-midnight.
  • Revise Design Idea, as needed.
