· Podcasting Guidelines, Version 1.0:
1. Make it worth it. I have chosen to subscribe and listen to your podcast. It's not something that just flew by me on the radio.
2. Bring news. Bring analyses. Or be funny. Or tell me something from your life I can relate to.
3. Care about clarity of speech and sound. Sometime it's hard to hear through traffic and noise.
4. Keep an eye on the levels. I don't want to adjust the volume all the time.
5. Avoid telephone sound. Skype, MSN Messenger, or other VoIP programs sound better.
6. Edit carefully. People listen through earplugs. Any cuts and edits will be easily identified and sometimes distrusted.
7. Check your stuff for copyright.
8. Give your podcast a good description so that people understand what they subscribe to.
9. For serials, keep titles consistent. The following four titles have been used for the podcast version of BBC Go Digital: BBC Go Digital Week 29; Go Digital Week 30; Go Digital 31; week 32. (Oops.)
